What your first visit costs

Everyone starts with a new patient examination. After that, most people see us twice a year for a check-up and twice for hygiene.

Paying visit by visit, that is £300 a year

Two examinations at £65 and two hygiene appointments at £85. A Denplan plan covers your routine care from £20.35 a month — £244.20 a year — and Denplan Care also covers fillings, root canal treatment and extractions. What a plan covers follows what your dentist prescribes, so the hygiene visits you need come with the band your assessment places you in.

Three ways to pay

None of them is compulsory. Whichever suits you is the right one.

Pay as you go

Settle each appointment as you have it, at the fees on this page. Nothing to join, nothing to cancel.

Two examinations and two hygiene visits come to £300 a year.

A monthly Denplan plan

From £20.35 a month by direct debit. Covers your routine care and — on Denplan Care — restorative work too, plus worldwide dental injury and emergency cover.

Spreading larger treatment

Quoted in full at the consultation, then spread. Implant fees can be paid across the course of treatment. Orthodontic fees — Invisalign and fixed braces — can be paid within 12 months of your start date or by the end of treatment, whichever comes sooner.

Why we publish all of it

Parkview Dental Centre is a private practice. We are not limited by what an NHS contract will fund, which means we can give an appointment the time it needs and use the materials we judge best — and it also means you are paying for it directly. That is a fair reason to want the numbers up front.

So they are all here: every examination, filling, crown, extraction, implant and brace we offer, with the figure attached. Where a treatment is priced from a starting point rather than a flat fee, we say so and explain why.

You will get a fully costed treatment plan in writing before any work begins, and nothing on it will be a surprise against this page. If something you need is not listed, ask us and we will quote it.

Questions about cost

Do you take NHS patients?

No. Parkview Dental Centre is a private practice and does not provide NHS dental treatment. We would rather say so plainly than have you book and find out. If NHS care is what you need, the NHS find-a-dentist service lists practices taking NHS patients in Suffolk.

If you have been on a waiting list for a while and are weighing up going private, it is worth knowing what it actually costs first. A monthly plan starts at £20.35.

What will my first appointment cost?

A new patient examination is £132. It runs 45 minutes and includes routine X-rays, a full assessment of your teeth, gums and bite, and a written treatment plan if you need any work doing. Routine examinations after that are £65.

You will not be charged for anything that was not agreed with you first.

Are these prices fixed?

Where a fee is shown as a flat figure it is what you pay. Where it says From, the final cost depends on the work involved — a molar root canal takes longer than an incisor, and a bridge is priced per unit. In those cases you get a fully costed treatment plan in writing before anything starts.

Where our published fee guides quote two different figures for the same treatment, we publish the higher one, so a quote is never lower than the amount you are charged.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes, in two ways. Routine care can go on a monthly Denplan payment plan from £20.35 a month, which covers examinations, hygiene and — on Denplan Care — fillings, root canal treatment and extractions.

Larger pieces of work are quoted separately and can be spread. Implant fees can be paid across the course of treatment. Orthodontic fees — Invisalign and fixed braces — can be paid within 12 months of your start date or by the end of treatment, whichever comes sooner. Ask us when we give you the plan.

Is there a charge if I need to be seen urgently?

An emergency appointment is From £184 if you are registered with us, and £275 as a one-off if you are not. That covers the appointment and getting you out of pain; any treatment that follows is quoted separately. More detail is on our emergency dentist page.

What is not included in these fees?

Laboratory fees and prescriptions are charged separately, as is any referral to a specialist outside the practice. Sedation is priced on its own line. Everything else you will find on this page.
